The IMU has created the IMU Circle in order to acknowledge and honor the efforts of mathematicians who have served and represented the IMU, with passionate commitment and over many decades. The members of the IMU Circle are mathematicians who have given sustained and distinguished contributions to the International Mathematical Union. Their nomination to the IMU Circle is a recognition of their commitment to IMU and a token of appreciation by IMU for their valuable service, support and advice. The IMU Circle is chaired by the serving IMU President, assisted by an Associate Chair to be appointed by the IMU EC.
