The airport railway station is located in Terminal 1 on level U2. Terminal 2 is located only a few minutes' walk away.
Airport Express (FEX) and regional trains run several times an hour between the Berlin Central Station and the airport railway station (Flughafen BER - Termin 1-2).
The S9 and S45 communter trains run every 20 minutes to the Berlin City Centre.
To get to the IMU Secretariat, you may choose to commute with the S-Bahn (S9 or S45) or the Airport Express (FEX) and regional trains.
Travelling by S-Bahn
Taking S9
Board the S9 commuter train at the airport railway station. Alight at “Alexanderplatz” station and change for the tube U2 direction “Ruhleben”. Alight at the tube station “Hausvogteiplatz”. Walk 200 m to the office.
Taking S45
Alternatively, you can also take the S45 commuter train direction “S+U Tempelhof”. From there, change for the tube U6 direction “U Alt-Tegel”. Alight at the tube station “U Stadtmitte”. Walk 500 m to the office.
Travel time: approx. 1 hour.
Travelling by Airport Express or Regional Trains
Taking FEX
Board the FEX train at the airport railway station. Alight at the Berlin main train station "Hauptbahnhof" and change for the tube U5 direction "U Hönow". Alight at the tube station "U Museuminsel". Walk 900m to the office.
Alternatively, you may also take the regional train RE17 to the main train station and change for the tube U5 as described above.

Taking the regional train
Board RE17 at the airport railway station. Alight at the railway station "S Südkreuz". Change for the S-Bahn S45 direction "Flughafen BER Terminal 1+2". Alight at "S+U Tempelhof" and change for the tube U6. Take U6 in the direction of "U Alt-Tegel". Alight at the tube station Stadtmitte. Walk 500m to the office.
Travel time: approx. 1 hour
Taking the Taxi
Taxis can be found close to Terminal 1 and 2 in the north and south taxi ranks located in front of T1 on level E0.
Travel time: approx. 40 minutes.

Public Transport Tickets
Public transport tickets can be bought at the ticket machines at the railway station or on the platform, but not on the train. Please remember to validate your ticket before traveling.
BER Airport is in tariff zone C. Ticket required to travel from BER Airport to the city center: Single ticket Berlin ABC (valid 2 hours when validated, can be equally used for bus, U-Bahn, S-Bahn, and regional train covering the tariff zone of the ticket, check current fare prices at www.vbb.de).

The commuter trains S9 and S45 also stops at Terminal 5 of the BER airport.
Terminal 5 is currently not in operation. The journey time between Terminal 5 and Terminal 1-2 is eight minutes between the two stations.
