The principal aims of ICMI Study-21 Conference are:
To gather together a community of researchers who are currently addressing issues of language diversity as they relate to mathematics education;
To reflect on the current state of research on these issues and propose a research agenda for the future;
To lay the groundwork for the study volume and other forms of publication in order to disseminate research findings and issues for future work.
The Conference will be a working meeting organised around a number of themes. The International Programme Committee invites individuals or groups to submit papers on any of the following themes:
Theme 1: Focus on learning
Theme 2: Focus on teaching
Theme 3: Focus on teacher education
Theme 4: Focus on methodological and theoretical issues
Theme 5: Focus on mathematics education and society
