It is with great pleasure that ICMI announces that the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education (ERME) and the International Commission for the Study and Improvement of Mathematics Teaching (CIEAEM) have joined CIAEM to become Affiliate Organizations of ICMI. We welcome the opportunity for collaboration on matters of mutual interest.

The possibility for regional organizations with parallel aims in mathematics education to become affiliated to ICMI was decided by the last Executive and formalised in a recent modification of ICMI’s Terms of Reference. We are delighted that three such organizations have agreed to this collaborative status, and look forward to widening the network in this formal way.
