Venue of the Congress
The venue of the ICM-2010 will be the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), a state of the art facility for holding large meetings such as ICM 2010. The City of Hyderabad is accessible directly from some international airports in Europe right now and we expect from many more by 2010. A new international airport has become operational since April 2008 in Shamshabad, which is about 25 kms from the center of the city. The city is well connected both by air and surface to all the major metros in the country: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore.
Reaching Hyderabad
By Air
India’s geographic positioning is 8-10 hours from the heart of Europe and is only about 4-5 hrs away from the heart of Asia/ Middle East. This means that you arrive the same day from most destinations across the world.
The brand new Hyderabad International Airport – Rajiv Gandhi International Airport is at a place called Shamshabad. Indian airlines, Jet airways and King Fisher along with most of the other domestic airlines are operating flights to and from Hyderabad International Airport (HYD). A few international flights are also operating from Hyderabad. Please see the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department’s Travel Guide on How To Reach Hyderabad for a list of all major international airlines connecting to Hyderabad. Hyderabad is connected to all the other major airports in India like those in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkotta, and Bangalore.
By Rail: The easiest way is to arrive at Secunderabad, the twin-city of Hyderabad. All major trains stop and depart from here. Another major station in the city is Kacheguda. You may check the Indian Railway website for the train timings.
By Road: The city is easily accessible by road since it lies at the intersection of two major national highways: NH 7 (Nizamabad Road, Medchal Road) and NH 9.
