BGF grants are funded by the generous donations from Breakthrough Prize winners. The award of full PhD grants goes to three students from developing countries engaged in a PhD degree in the mathematical sciences in a developing country. The 2023 recipients are as follows (listed in alphabetical order):
Heritiana Daniel ANDRIASOLOFO is a student from Madagascar. He received a four year doctoral fellowship to to pursue a PhD at University of Antananarivo in Madagascar and to work in discrete maths, on random graphs and analytic combinatoris. His supervisor is Vlady Ravelomanana (France).
Priyendhu KETHAPPAN SASIKUMAR is a student from India. She received a three year doctoral fellowship to to pursue a PhD and work on Fractional Nonlinear PDE, Analytical Methods, Conservation Laws, Analytical Solutions at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetam, Coimbatore Campus, Amritanagar Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India under the supervision of P. Prakash (India).
Marzieh SOURI is an Iranian student. She received a four year doctoral fellowship to pursue a PhD at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences in Iran. She plans to work on low dimensional topology and knot theory under the supervision of Eaman Eftekhary (Iran).
