Grants for Institutions

CDC has two programs to support mathematical institutions:

Volunteer Lecturer Program (VLP)

The VLP supports universities in developing countries by providing financial assistance to host a volunteer lecturer for an intensive course at their university. Funded partially by the American Mathematical Society and the Niels Henrik Abel Board (Norway), the VLP is designed to foster research and international cooperation between mathematicians in developing countries and the international mathematical community.

Library Assistance Scheme (LAS)

The LAS matches donors of mathematical materials with libraries in universities/research institutions in developing countries where there is a need for mathematical research literature. This program provides limited financial support to cover shipment costs for individual scientists or institutions donating books in the mathematical sciences to libraries in developing countries.
