Dear Colleagues,
after so many months of work and expectation, the year of the Congress has finally arrived!
Preparations are well under way: the bulk of the scientific program has been defined, the proceedings are being finalized - to be
distributed to all registered participants at the Congress, travel grants have been awarded to mathematicians from the developing
world, communications and posters are being submitted and, of course, participants are registering as I write.
While a lot more remains to be done, the Organizing Committee is doing its very best to ensure that the first International
Congress of Mathematicians ever held in the Southern Hemisphere will be a truly memorable event. Come and check!
Right now, keep in mind the deadlines for submission of short communications and posters – March 05 – and for early
advance registration – April 27.

ICM Childcare Center
Children are also welcome at ICM 2018! As you join the ICM sessions, your kids will be playing and begin taken care of at the Childcare Center.
The ICM offers a pedagogical kids playground that fosters their creativity and abilities. Our daily schedule includes several sensorial and playful activities, theme workshops and recreational games that last all day. Your children are going to love it!
The Childcare Center will be open daily from 8:30 to 18:00 and will be available for children 2-10 years old.
