Subject: ICM2002-CL13: Travel Grants for Senior Mathematicians from developing countries
and Mathematicians from Eastern Europe.

Dear Colleague:
We announce with pleasure a new program of travel grants suggested by IMU. The program includes the following categories.
1. Mathematicians from Eastern Europe (grants provided by IMU);
2. Senior Mathematicians from developing countries in Latin America and Africa (grants provided by IMU);
3. Senior Mathematicians from developing countries in Asia (grants provided by Chinese Mathematical Society).
Applicants in the above categories please fill the attached form as well as
either the form given in ICM2002 circular letter #10 or that in circular
letter #11 (http://www.icm2002.org.cn) and send the forms to the following
address before March 10, 2002.
Those who have already applied for local costs (who have sent us the
form given in either ICM2002 circular letter #10 or
#11), and who are
interested in applying for this program, may send only the attached
form to the following address before March 10, 2002:

Please notice that only limited funds are available, so we suggest strongly
that only those who can not find other sources of travel expenses to apply
for this program of travel grants.
All applications will be reviewed and all applicants will be informed about the result immediately after MAY 1, 2002. Those who receive this program
of travel grants (and those who receive the travel grants provided by IMU
for Yang Research Mathematicians, see ICM2002 circular letter #7), will also receive the financial support provided by CMS or by LOC to cover
their local costs, as described in the ICM2002 circular
letters #10 and #11.
