SciDev.Net, a free-access global website providing news, views and information on science, technology and development, has recently been launched. The website - which can be found at www.scidev.net - covers issues ranging from climate change and AIDS to human cloning and intellectual property.
The website provides authoritative information and a focal point for discussion about the links between science, technology and international development. In particular it includes: constantly updated news and feature articles; topic-based 'dossiers' with news, 'policy briefs' and links to other sites; regional gateways on Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East; opinion articles by leading experts and commentators; substantial opportunities for feedback from users.
SciDev.Net is backed by the journals Nature and Science, both of which are providing free access to selected articles every week, as well as the Third World Academy of Sciences. Those interested are invited to visit the site
(SciDev.Net is an educational charity registered in the UK. Funding for the project is being provided by international development agencies in Britain, Canada and Sweden.)
