Prior registration for the opening ceremony is compulsory. The ceremony will be held in Pavilion 3 of Riocentro Convention Center, in the Plenary Room. In order to attend the opening ceremony, participants must have completed the registration process at the registration counter on July 31, 2018 or up to 60 minutes before the opening ceremony on August 01, 2018.

Award Ceremony for the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad

During ICM 2018, 576 public and private school students from all over Brazil will receive the gold medals earned at the 2017 edition of the Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad of Public Schools (OBMEP). The competition has been held since 2005 by the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) in partnership with the Brazilian Society of Mathematics (SBM).

All registered participants are invited to attend the closing ceremony of ICM 2018. This is the final event of the Congress and will take place in the Plenary Room of Pavilion 3 of the Riocentro Convention Center, in the afternoon of August 09, 2018.
