Aviation Institute (MAI) with the cooperation of the Steklov Institute
of Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow Mathematical
Society, and Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics is organizing
the International Conference on Differential and Functional Differential Equations,
August 11-17, 2002. The scientific program will consist of invited 45-minute
lectures, 30-minute lectures and 20-minute communications. This conference is a
satellite conference of International Congress of Mathematicians in Beijing ICM-2002. In the frames of the conference the celebration of 80-th birthday of Professor
M.I.Vishik will be made. The conference will be devoted to classical topics of the theory of differential equations and different kinds of nonlocal interactions:
bifurcations, ordinary differential equations in a complex domain, analytic aspects of dynamical systems, spectral theory, partial differential equations in functional spaces, linear and nonlinear problems of mathematical physics, semigroups of operators, asymptotic methods, singularly perturbed systems, attractors of evolution equations, boundary value problems and nonlocal problems, functional differential equations and applications. |

Call for papers:
|
The participants who want to present a paper at the conference are
kindly asked to send a one page abstract in the form of a LATEX
2e file by e-mail.
In order to accelerate processing of your file, please omit a preamble but send us
only the text itself, i.e. the part of the LATEX file between the commands
\begin{document} and \end{document}. The abstract should contain new results completely formulated in the form of theorems. The title has to be in capital letters followed by the name(s) and affiliation(s) of the
author(s). The abstracts will be collected in a booklet to be distributed among the participants upon arrival. The deadline for receiving abstracts is May 1, 2002. |
|
Registration:
|
The registration fee for participants is equivalent to $95 and should be
paid in roubles upon arrival. The registration fee covers expenses on abstracts and
program publishing, and mailing expenses. The registration fee for accompanying
persons is $30.
Upon arrival to Moscow you are kindly requested to come to the Registration
Office, where the program booklets and the Books of Abstracts are to be distributed
among the participants. On August 11 the Registration Office will operate from 1:00
p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and on August 12 - from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Building

Transportation:
|
The Organizing Committee will book minibuses to pick up foreign
participants arriving to the Moscow International Airport Sheremetyevo-2. These
buses will depart from the airport each 2-3 hours on August 10, 11. It is desirable to
inform us about your flight number, airline, and arrival time in advance.
Foreign participants coming by train are kindly asked to let us know the date
and time of their arrival, the terminal they arrive to, train and carriage numbers. The
Organizing Committee will pick them up at the railway station.
One can get around Moscow by metro, bus, trolley-bus, tram or fixed-route
taxi.
Metro: The Moscow Metro is a convenient transportation system connecting almost
all parts of Moscow. The current subway fare is 5 roubles per ride. In order to pass
there, one should buy a card at a special window (there are such windows at each
station). Moscow Aviation Institute can be reached from 'Sokol' metro station (the
green line).
Trolley-buses and taxis: One can get to Moscow Aviation Institute from
'Sokol' station by trolley-bus ¡í 12 or 70. Instead of trolley-bus (4 roubles per ride) you can
take fixed-route taxi with the same route number (10 roubles per ride). The
transportation stop closest to the Registration Office is the next one (called
'Gidroproyekt') after 'Sokol' station. Then one should walk ahead about 100 m to
the gates of MAI. Directions to the Registration Office and to concrete locations of
Conference sessions will be available there.
All foreign participants will be provided with maps of Moscow and schemes
of the Moscow Metro prior to the Opening Ceremony at the Registration Office. |
|

Opening Ceremony and Reception: The Opening Ceremony will take place on
August 12, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at 'President Hall', in the building of Presidium of the
Academy of Sciences (Leninskii prospect, 32a). The Reception will take place on
August 12, 2002, at 6:00 p.m. at 'Fountain Hall', in the same building. All the
participants will be taken by buses from the Registration Office in MAI to the
building of Presidium.
Invitations to the Opening Ceremony and the Reception will be distributed only during the registration in MAI. Unregistered participants will
not be able to attend the Opening Ceremony and the Reception.
