Beijing Night Show

The first half of the three-hour show begins with a banquet of exquisite Chinese delicacies from different eras of Chinese history. Audiences are treated to dishes such as thick soup of goose from the Shang Dynasty and roast pig of the Chun Qiu period while, onstage, musicians play traditional Chinese instruments.

Rarely does one see dancers so beautifully costumed, and so obviously enjoying the choreography they have to perform, the whole enhanced by enchanting music and clever sound effects. The creators of the Beijing Night Show wisely ruled out any dialogue, thus short- circuiting language;barrier headaches that non-Chinese speakers often run into at cultural events.
